爱尔兰亚洲重要智库执行总监致我会慰问函
Mr. Shen Xin, Director General,The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries,1 Taijichang Street, 100740 Beijing, China. 24 February 2020. CPAFFC Invitation to 6th China Ireland Business Summit in Cork on 21 and 22 May Dear Director General,I hope that you and all at The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries are well and in good health. It is good to see progress now being made in control of the COVID-19 virus. Like many friends of China, I have watched with solidarity and support along with deep respect for the sacrifices made by the Chinese people to combat this illness. Though Ireland is only a small country, our Prime Minister Leo Varadkar has sent a personal letter of support to Premier Li Keqiang and the Irish government has donated €500,000 to assist WHO funding in combating this virus. Specialist Irish companies have also donated medical supplies directly to Wuhan including air purifiers and surgical masks.Of course, it was very understandable that the planned CPAFFC member delegations did not visit Dublin in February as planned. As mentioned, we would be honoured if CPAFCC and member delegations would join our 6th annual China Ireland Business Summit in Cork on 21 and 22 May. Asia Matters previously had the privilege of CPAFFC Vice President Song joining this Summit where we signed a Memorandum of Understanding between The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Asia Matters in the presence of Mr. Simon Coveney, Deputy Irish Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade along with H.E. Ambassador He Xiangdong.Wishing to show visible support for China and Chinese partners at this challenging time, Asia Matters recently had a photo call in Cork with the Lord Mayor of Cork City, Deputy Mayor and Chief Executive of Cork County and leaders from Cork Institute of Technology and Teagasc, the Agriculture and Food Development Authority. Please see press release https://www.asiamatters.eu/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Cork-2020-PR-Final-.pdf and Chinese media article https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/KWxndKZi3a3xmCeWZEim_gSpeakers to date include H.E. Ambassador He Xiangdong, Robert Schoellhammer, Chief Representative Europe, Asian Development Bank; Prof Song Miao Teagasc and Jason Hawkins CEO Carbery Group.
