On 24th Dec. 2015, Mr. Xie Yuan, Vice President of CPAFFC met with the group headed by Mrs. Mariela Castro Espin, the oldest daughter of Cuban Leader Raul Castro. Mr. Xie has briefed the delegation about the recent communications and exchanges of CPAFFC with Cuban side. Both sides realized discussions on the bilateral cooperation on the sectors of Public Health, youth education and tourism.

  At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), a 50-member Thai young executive delegation led by Mr. Bhoin Bhalakula, President of Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association and the former president of  National Assembly of Thailand, visited Beijing and Shanghai and participated in the Thai-Chinese Young Executive Program from December 14th to 19th. Mr. Luo fuhe, Vice Chairman of National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Mme. Lin Yi, Vice President of the CPAFFC, Mr. Yu Jianhao, vice President of Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met with the delegation respectively. The delegation attended China-Thailand Economic and Trade Seminar on the topic of China-Thailand Ties and China-ASEAN Trade Relations under the Guideline of One Belt and One Road Strategy. The Delegation visited Baidu and Administrative Service Center of Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone. This visit furthered the exchanges of youth and people-to-people friendship between China and Thailand.    

  On December 18, CPAFFC Vice President Lin Yi met with H.E. Dang Minh Khoi, Vietnam Ambassador to China. Ambassador Dang extended best wishes for Madame Lin’s forthcoming visit to Vietnam, attending the 7th Meeting of China-Vietnam People’s Forum (CVPF).  Mr. Dang said, during the visit to Vietnam by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese President, the two sides reached important agreements on further advancing the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.  Therefore, it is significant for the friendship organizations of Vietnam and China to hold the 7th Meeting of CVPF, in which the delegates will make new proposals for pushing forward bilateral relations from the “second track” channel. Madame Lin said, this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam.  The bilateral relations have been developing smoothly and the people-to-people exchanges have also made remarkable achievements.  CPAFFC attaches great importance to the cooperation with friendship organizations in Vietnam such as the Vietnam union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO).  Madame Li Xiaolin, President of CPAFFC, paid three visits to Vietnam this year for purpose of enhancing cooperation with VUFO and jointly holding activities for the visits to Vietnam by Chinese state leaders.  As a major project marking the 65th anniversary, every meeting of the CVPF provides good suggestions for developing bilateral relations. CPAFFC will keep working on various friendship activities in a bid to make the China-Vietnam friendship deeply rooted in people’s mind and contribute more to the development o bilateral relations.

Vice President Xie Yuan met with Gao Huandong, Vice President of Yihaodian, on December 18th ,2015. Vice President Xie briefed Gao on CPAFFC，and welcomed Yihaodian to actively participate in activities hosted by CPAFFC. Mr. Gao said Yihaodian hopes to strengthen cooperation with CPAFFC, making corporate contributions to the development of China-U.S. relations.

On December 16th , Vice President Xie Yuan met with the group led by Mr. William Woo, President of Brazil China People’s Friendship Association and Brazilian Federal Congressman. Mr. Xie extended his warm welcome to Mr. Woo for his second visit to CPAFFC’s compound and expressed his willingness to strengthen the communication with Brazilian National Congress, as well as Brasil-China Friendship Association. Moreover, Mr. Xie has invited Mr. Woo to lead a delegation to China on proper time next year. Mr. Woo expressed his gratitude to Mr. Xie for the encounter and briefed him about the general proposal of Brasil-China Friendship Association next year. He hoped to work with CPAFFC to promote Brazil-China cooperation on all areas.

On December 15, China-UK in Drama Youth Drama Exchange Project launched in the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries(CPAFFC). Vice President Song Jingwu of CPAFFC and Vice President Sun Youzhong of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) delivered the speech and signed the agreement of cooperation on the project on each behalf. Famous artist Li Bin of Beijing People’s Art Theater and Prof. Zhang Jun of Communication University of China, together with around 100 representative from universities in Beijing attended the event.   CPAFFC and BFSU would co-host the project and organize the Chinese and British students to create and play drama pieces that reflect China-UK cultural exchange and goodwill. The project aimed to further promote the cultural exchange between the youth of two countries, and contribute to the long-lasting, open and win-win comprehensive partnership of China and UK. The debut of the drama pieces would be 2016.

  On December 14th, Mr. Li Xikui, Secretary General of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), attended the Exchange Ceremony of Memorandum on Assisting Beijing-Zhangjiakou Olympic Winter Games between CPAFFC and Nagano Prefecture. Secretary General Li Xikui welcomed Shuichi Abe, Governor of Nagano Prefecture and his delegation. He expressed that the success of Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games needed an extensive support from the world. Nagano Prefecture is the city where1998 Olympic Winter Games was held and has experience of successfully holding the Olympic Winter Games. He hoped that the both sides would take this opportunity to make every effort to cooperate, with the successful experience Nagano Olympic Winter Games and all kinds of other resources to make joint efforts to successfully hold Beijing and Zhangjiakou Olympic Winter Games and further strengthen the exchanges among Nagano Prefecture, Beijing and Hebei Province. Governor Shuichi Abe has been engaged in enhancing the friendly exchanges between China and Japan for a long time. His enthusiasm of promoting China-Japan friendship comes first of the leaders of the Japanese autonomous administrations. Governor Shuichi Abe has been keeping close contact with the CPAFFC, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Japan and China Radio International (CRI) for many years. He attended China-Japan Governors’ Forum for many times. Under the framework of the Memorandum, Governor Shuichi Abe hoped to develop cooperation with China in various fields and to make contributions to holding Beijing and Zhangjiakou Olympic Winter Games by taking advantage of the Nagano Prefecture’ successful experience. 

At the invitation of the India China Friendship Association, and organized by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Chinese Doctors Delegation of the 4th China India Joint Medical Mission composed of 9 doctors and 2 program staff visited India between 6 and 13 December 2015. Deputy Consulate-General of China in Mumbai Mr. Yan Hualong met with the delegation. The delegation went to Taruk near Mysore, Karnataka, and Akkireddipalli Village R.R. District of Hydrabad, Andra Pradesh, where they joined with the local doctors to provided free medical consultation to rural residents, and communicated with their local peers. The delegation also visited public and private medical organs as well as medical education institutes, watched operation videos and engaged in hot discussions with Indian doctors.            

On december 9, Vice President Song Jingwu met with Delegation from Friendship Association of Khabarovsk Krai of Russia. President Song extended warm welcome to the delegation, introduced main activities of CPAFFC and China- Russia Friendship Association and expressed willingness to establish contact with the Friendship-Association Khabarovsk Krai cooperation. Ms.Roitman, President of Friendship Association of Khabarovsk Krai of Russia thanked Song for the meeting amid the busy schedule. She said that youth exchange is an important direction of the work of their organization, hoping the two sides can strengthen exchanges and cooperation in this regard. The delegation visits China at the invitation of China Association for Friendship.  Hu Chunmei attended the meeting.

On December 9th, the reception celebrating 45th anniversary of establishment of China- Italy diplomatic relations was held in the Great Hall of the People by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Counties (CPAFFC). 200 guests from China and Italy, including Mr. Zhang Ping, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Mr. Pietro Grasso, President of the Senate of Italy, Mme. Chen Xiurong, Vice Chairperson of the Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the NPC, Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the CPAFFC, Mr. Ettore Francesco Sequi, Ambassador of Italy to China, attended the reception. Mr. Zhang Ping, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the NPC, Making an address in the reception Vice Chairman Zhang Ping said in his speech, both China and Italy are ancient civilizations nations and have a long history of exchanges. In recent years, the two countries have enjoyed a smooth development of political relations, characterized with a frequent exchange of high-level visits, an increasing strengthening mutual political trust, a fruitful outcome of the economic and trade cooperation and an expansion of the culture exchanges, which promote the cooperation to develop further in the fields of science, culture, education, environment and tourism. The Chinese side paid high attention to the development of the friendly cooperated relations with Italy and hoped to take the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Italy diplomatic relations as an opportunity to make joint efforts with Italy to promote the bilateral ties to a new stage. Mr. Pietro Grasso, President of the Senate of Italy, Making an address in the reception President Pietro Grasso said, Italy and China are traditional friendly countries. Both countries have been promoting the exchanges and cooperation in various fields for many years which mutually benefited the two countries and peoples. He also expressed, Italy would actively support and participate in the great plan made by the Chinese President Xi Jingping on the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and Maritime Silk Road in the 21st Century.
