2017 College Students from Japan-China Cultural Exchange Association Visits China
At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), a 99-member college students from Japan-China Cultural Exchange Association visited Beijing, Guizhou, Shanghai and etc. from August 28th to September 3rd.
During in Beijing, CPAFFC Vice President Song Jingwu held a welcome reception for the delegation. Vice President Song said in his speech that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations. 45 years ago, the old generation leaders of the two countries overcame difficulties to realize the normalization of the diplomatic relations between China and Japan, which is beneficial to the two peoples. We should cherish the achievements of Sino-Japanese relations. The youth are the future and the hope for a country. They have great responsibility to realize the friendship of the two peoples from generation to generation. Vice President Song hoped that Japanese students could take advantage of this visit to China to keep more contacts and communication with Chinese youth and to work together to continue expanding the power of Sino-Japanese friendship so as to create a better future for bilateral relations.
The members of the delegation came from ten colleges, such as the University of Tokyo, Waseda University, Keio University. During in China, the delegation took part in “Exchange Conference for Thousands of Students between China and Japan” and made an announcement with Chinese college students on Declaration for Peace and Friendship between Chinese and Japanese Youth. Moreover, the delegation also inspected Guizhou Urban and Rural Planning Museum, Big Data Exhibition Center, Colorful Guizhou Cultural Creative Industry Zone and etc., and carried out friendly exchanges with Guizhou Minzu University students.
Secretary General Li Xikui Meets with President of Morocco-China Friendship Association
Mr. Li Xikui, Secretary General of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met withMr. KHAL IL MOHAMED, President of Morocco and China Friendship Association (MCFA) on August 29th. Mme. Jia Ling, Secretary General of China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development (CFFPD), attended the meeting.
Secretary General Li Xikui welcomed President KHAL IL MOHAMED to CPAFFC. He said that CPAFFC and CFFPD would like to strengthen contacts with MCFA to promote the friendly exchanges of the two countries in the fields of local governments, culture, tourism and etc..
President KHAL IL MOHAMED thanked Secretary General Li for meeting them. He expressed, MCFA is willing to deepen the cooperation with CPAFFC and CFFPD to make efforts commonly to promote the bilateral relation to a new stage.
The 19th Exchange Conference of Friendly Cities among China, Japan and South Korea Held Successfully in Ulsan
On August 29th, the 19th Exchange Conference of Friendship Cities among China, Japan and Republic of Korea was successfully held in Ulsan city of R.O.K. Over 300 delegates from three countries attended the conference and had discussions on the theme of “Accelerating Transformation and Upgrading and Promoting Regional Development in Northeast Asia”.
Madame Lin Yi, Vice President of CPAFFC, said on the opening ceremony that the exchanges and cooperation among China-Japan-ROK local governments are confronted with both opportunities and challenges. The trilateral sides should join hands to build a peaceful, stable and prosperous Northeast Asia.
Mr. Kim Kwan-yong, President of Governors Association of Korea (GAK) and Governor of North Gyeongsang Province, Mr. Kim Gi-hyeon, Mayor of Ulsan City and Mr. OKAMOTO TAMOTSU, President of the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR) made speeches respectively on the opening ceremony. The participants of local governments from China, Japan and R.O.K all agreed to keep communication, share experience on issues of common concern and jointly seek for greater development.
The Conference is co-hosted by CPAFFC, GAK and CLAIR alternately in three countries annually. The 20th Conference will be held in Kaifeng, China in 2018.

Vice President Xie Yuan Meets with President Danillo Santos
Mr. Xie Yuan, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Mr. Danillo Santos, President of Brazil-China Friendship Association (BCFA) and his delegation on August 29th, 2017.
Vice President Xie Yuan reviewed the wonderful experience he had visited Brazil in 2014 at the invitation of President Danillo Santos and welcomed him to lead a delegation to visit China again. Vice President Xie Yuan introduced the strategy of the Belt and Road Initiatives and BRICS summit to be held in the early of September to the delegation. He said, China and Brazil, BRICS countries, should further strengthen dialogue and exchanges. CPAFFC would like to play the role of bridge in the exchanges of the two countries.
The delegation thanked Vice President Xie Yuan for taking time to meet them and expressed that BCFA would further work for promoting the exchanges and cooperation between China and Brazil in the fields of the economy, trade, culture, education and etc..

“ Signing Ceremony of Strategic Cooperation of Chinese Culture ‘ Going Out’ ” was held in Beijing on August 26th. Mr. Li Xikui, Secretary General of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), attended and delivered a speech. Above 100 personages including Mr. Zhang Jichen,General Manager of China National Publications Import&Export (Group) Corporation (CNPIEC), Mme. Nie Jing, Secretary of Communist Party of China of CNPIEC, and representatives from publishing and culture fields, attended the activity.

Vice President Song Jingwu Attends Book Launch of Biography of Bata Zivojinovic
On 25 August, 2017, the Book Launch of Eternal Walter: Biography of Bata was held in Beijing hosted by People’s Publishing House, supported by CPAFFC and China Written Works Copyright Society and co-organized by CEE Research Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University. Mr. Bacevic, Serbian Ambassador to China and Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of CPAFFC attended the book launch and gave speeches.
Mr. Song remarked that the issuing of the biography of Bata Zivojinovic was one of the accomplishments of the cultural exchange between China and Serbia, and would further promote the mutual understanding of the two peoples and encourage more people, especially young people to know and participate actively in the long-lasting friendship between the two countries.
Vice President Lin Yi Meets with the Delegation of Filipino Chinese Friendship Association
On Aug 23rd, CPAFFC Vice President Lin Yi met with Mr. Yiu So C·Chua,, Honorary President of Filipino Chinese Friendship Association (FCFA).
Vice President Lin Yi welcomed President Chua to visit the association and briefed on the exchanges between CPAFFC and Philippines side. She said CPAFFC would like to deepen the friendship relations and strengthen the communication and cooperation with the FCFA in all areas including economy and trade, culture and youth between the two countries.
Mr.Chua thanked Vice President Lin Yi for meeting him and said the FCFA is willing to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation with the CPAFFC to promote Filipino-Sino people-to-people friendly relations to a new level.
Vice President Lin Yi Meets with President of Senegalese Mayors Association
On August 23, Madame Lin Yi, Vice President of CPAFFC, met with Mr. Aliou SALL, President of Senegalese Mayors Association, and his wife.
Madame Lin exchanged views with Mr. Sall on future cooperation projects between the two associations. She invited Mr. Sall to lead a delegation to participate in China (Hunan)-Africa Local Industrial Cooperation Conference and expressed willingness to promote, together with the Senegalese side, China-Senegal and China-Africa pragmatic exchanges in the fields of local governments and youth.
Mr. Sall said that his association would establish closer ties with CPAFFC so as to actively advance the local governmental cooperation between China and Senegal as well as other western African countries.
A Reception to Commemorate 25th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Republic of Korea Held in Beijing
The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) held a reception to commemorate the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Republic of Korea in Beijing on August 23rd. Mr. Chen Zhu,Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Mr. Kim Jang Soo, Ambassador of Korean Embassy in China, attended the reception and delivered speeches respectively. Around 200 Chinese and Korean friendly personages from all walks of life were present. Mme. Lin Yi, Vice President of CPAFFC presided over the reception.
Vice Chairman Chen Zhu said in his speech that with the common effort, China-Korea relations have achieved a leaping development in the past 25 year, which greatly benefited the two countries and peoples. The Chinese side pays great attachment to the bilateral relations and is willing to take the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Korea as an opportunity to review and summarize the experience and lesson during the development of the bilateral ties. Moreover, the Chinese side also would like to consolidate the mutual trust, properly handle the divergence and promote China-Korea relations going back to stable and health lane.
Ambassador Kim Jang Soo said in his speech that during the meeting in Berlin, the two heads of states had approved the importance to develop the bilateral ties, conveyed the willingness to cooperate and indicated the direction for the development of China-Korea relations. As the two countries have a long history to keep contacts, relationship could not be easily changed. He believed that the two countries could commonly overcome difficulties and build the future through strengthening the mutual trust and the exchanges.
A Reception to Celebrate 10th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Costa Rica Held in Beijing
A reception to celebrate the 10th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Costa Rica was held in Beijing on August 17th. Mr. Ma Peihua, Vice Chairman of National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and President of China-Latin America and Caribbean Friendship Association (CLACFA), Mr. Xie Yuan, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Mr. Alexander Mora, Minister of Ministy of Commerce Exterior, Mr. Patricia Rodríguez, Ambassador of Costa Rica Embassy in China, attended the reception. Before the reception, Vice Chairman Ma Peihua had a brief meeting with Minister Alexander Mora and Ambassador Patricia Rodríguez.
Vice President Xie Yuan said in his speech that, China and Costa Rica established strategic partnership of equality, mutual trust and win-win cooperation since the two countries had established the diplomatic relations ten years ago. Both countries had also set an example of friendly cooperation between the countries. The great achievements the two countries had obtained during the friendly exchanges are inseparable from the common efforts made by the friendly personages from all walks of life of the two countries. He hoped that China and Costa Rica relations could achieve greater development in the next ten years, fully exploit potentialities to cooperate of the two countries and develop more platforms to exchanges.
Ambassador Patricia Rodríguez pointed out in his speech, Costa Rica and China enjoy profound friendship. The senior leaders of both sides had been keeping contact and had signed free trade agreement since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries. Costa Rica government thanked China for supporting and assistance. He hoped that both sides would take the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Costa Rica as an opportunity to look into the future, further improve the bilateral ties and carry forward the traditional friendship of the two countries.
“Impression on Costa Rica” art exhibition was also held on the reception. The works drew by famous painters from China Central Academy of Fine Arts after they went to Costa Rica and experienced the scenery of the country, which was organized by CPAFFC in 2016.
