Vice President Song Jingwu Meets with Japan-China Culture Exchange Association Delegation
At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Japan-China Culture Exchange Association (JCCEA) delegation led by Mrs. KURIHARA KOMAKI, the Vice President of JCCEA and the Japanese famous performaning artist, visited Beijing, Yangzhou, Shanghai and other places from May 9 to 13. On the afternoon of May 9, Vice President Song Jingwu met with the delegation in CPAFFC and extended his warm welcome to them. He also offered his congratulations on the 60th anniversary of the founding of JCCEA. Vice President Song said that JCCEA had made important contributions to promoting the culture exchange between China and Japan, as well as the stable development of Chinese-Japanese relations, since it was established. At present, the bilateral ties are in the crucial period for further improving, which needs people-to-people friendly personages to jointly make efforts and continuously strengthen the social and public support. CPAFFC and China-Japan Friendship Association (CJFA) would like to work together with JCCEA to strengthen the China-Japan culture exchange, enhance the understanding and friendship between the two countries’ people, and promote the friendly cause development continuously.  Mrs. KURIHARA KOMAKI thanked Vice President Song for taking his time to meet them. She said that JCCEA had experienced the 60 years’ glory under the cooperation with CPAFFC and other Chinese organizations and had made contributions to China-Japan cultural and educational exchanges. She also expressed that they would like to take the 60th anniversary as an opportunity to continuously develop the cultural exchanges and make unremitting efforts on the two countries’ friendship. During the delegation’s stay in China, they also visited Yangzhou, Jiangsu province to attend the departure ceremony of transporting the statue of New JIANZHEN Master to Japan by sea.

Vice President Song Jingwu Meets with League of Portugal-China Lasting Friendship Delegation
Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with General José Luís Pinto Ramalho, Chairman of  the League of Portugal-China Lasting Friendship(LPCLF), on 10th May, 2016. Chairman José Luís Pinto Ramalho said that this year marks the 25th anniversary of LPCLF. CPAFFC and LPCLF had been keeping regular exchanges and visits since the two organizations established the relationship. At the invitation of CPAFFC this time, LPCLF aims to further promote Portugal-China friendly exchanges and discusses the cooperative prospec with CPAFFC. He hoped that the two organizations should strengthen the cooperation between the entrepreneurs and the youth in the future. Vice President Song spoke highly of the contributions made by the previous leaders of LPCLF for the cause of China-Portugal people-to-people friendship. He said that Chairman José Luís Pinto Ramalho visiting China this time means the continuous of  the friendly exchanges of the two organizations for over 20 years. Vice President Song hoped,as one of the important partners in Portugal,LPCLF could provide continuous support and assistance for the exchanges and cooperation in different fields and sectors between the two countries. Mr. José Manuel da Veiga Testos, Vice Chairman of LPCLF, Mr. Lv Hongwei, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European and Asian Affairs of CPAFFC, etc., attended the meeting.

Exhibition of Four French Photographers Held in Capital Library of China
The Exhibition of Four French Photographers, jointly sponsored by the CPAFFC, the Capital Library of China, the Photographic Federation of France, and the French-Chinese Economic, Culture and Education Exchanges Association, opens at the Capital Library of China on May 6, 2016. The Photographic Federation of France is a professional association of photographers in France, whose members are all world-renowned artists. The exhibition includes works by Pholippe Litzler, editor-in-chief of French Photography magazine, Florence Notte, who has held a solo photo exhibition Yunnan Impression in France, and the other two photographers who also have won many titles in world photography contests. They care about public welfare and charitable undertakings, and enthusiastic about participating in  activities of cultural exchanges and dialogues. The exhibition presents 66 photos, covering recent winners, latest works and those taken in China.  CPAFFC Vice President Hu Sishe, Secretary General of CPC Committee of the Capital Library of China Xiao Weiping, President of the French-Chinese Economic, Culture and Education Exchanges Association Duan Lisheng, and Florence Notte spoke at the opening ceremony respectively, and the Chinese Photographers Association, French Alliance from the French cultural Center and other relevant agencies were represented at the opening ceremony. Xinhua News Agency, China Radio International, the People's Daily and other a dozen of media reported the event. Audience such as amateur photographers, and people who are interested in French culture, totaling about 50, also attended the opening ceremony. The exhibition will be open to the public until May 10.

Vice President Song Jingwu Attends “Move Next, China- Germany Youth Dialogue”
“Move Next, China-Germany Youth Dialogue” was held jointly by the CPAFFC and BMW Group in Ullens Center for Contemporary Art of the Dashanzi Art District on 6th, May 2016. Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries(CPAFFC), Mr, Olaf Kastner, the President and CEO of the Greater China of BMW Group, Mr. Thomas Becker, Vice President of Governmental Affairs of BMW Group, Mr. Adam Mutwil, Counsellor(transportation) of the Embassy of Germany in China, attended the activity and delivered  speeches respectively. More than 60 students, professors and scholars from China and Germany were present in this dialogue and visited the exhibition of the BMW. Vice President Song spoke highly of the social responsibilities practiced by the BMW Group in China for many years. He hoped that the youth could be stimulated to think about the way to travel and their social responsibilities in future and strengthen the exchanges through this dialogue. President Olaf Kastner said, this year marks the 100th anniversary for BMW Group. As a German automobile enterprise rooted in China, BMW Group has been developing with a prospective idea. He hoped to build a high-end exchanges platform for the two countries’ youth. "Move Next, China-Germany Youth Dialogue" is one of the series activities of the 2016 China-Germany youth exchanges year. The youth of the two countries developed a positive discussion on the factors influenced the resources to travel, urbanization and lifestyle, and they also gave many creative suggestions from the views of the commerce model, social responsibilities and transportation means in future.

Vice President Li Yuanchao Meets with the Delegation of the Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians' Union
On May 5th,2016,Vice President Li Yuanchao met with the delegation of the Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians' union led by its president KOMURA MASAHIKO who is also the Vice President of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party.  Vice President Li Yuanchao said, the relationship between China and Japan has been led into a long detour over past years, which should be treated as a great lesson. The relationship got improved in the past year, yet it is still fragile. Chinese side would like to promote the healthy and stable development of the two countries’ relations, based on the four political documents and the spirit of "learning from history and facing the future". It is expected that Japan could work with China towards the same direction, properly handle relevant sensitive issues, and make practical efforts to the improvement of bilateral ties. Mr. KOMURA MASAHIKO expressed his wish to improve the national feelings of the people of two countries, and promote to build mutually beneficial Japan-China friendly and cooperative relations continuously, through enhancing the two countries’ exchanges in different fields.  Mr. Tang Jiaxuan, President of China-Japan Friendship Association, attended the meeting. The Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians' union delegation visits China at the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

Vice President Song Jingwu Meets with Ambassador of Armenia
On May. 4th, CPAFFC Vice President Song Jingwu met with Mr. Manassarian, Ambassador of Armenia.  Vice President Song extended his welcome to Mr. Manassarian for his visiting to CPAFFC, and introduced the basic status of the CPAFFC and the friendly activities with Armenia in recent years. He also said that the CPAFFC will maintain close contacts with the embassy. Mr. Manassarian thanked Vice President Song for the meeting, As the new ambassador, he hope, that the Cooperation of the Embassy and CPAFFC will be more successful.

Reception in Celebration of the 55th Anniversary of China-Laos Diplomatic Relations Held in Beijing
Organized by the CPAFFC together with the Lao Embassy to China, the Reception celebrating the 55th Anniversary of China-Laos Diplomatic Relations was held in Beijing on May 4, 2016. H.E. Mr. Liu Yunshan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of CPC Central Committee, H.E. Mr. Bounnhang VORACHITH, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Lao PDR attended the reception. Mme. Li Xiaolin, President of the CPAFFC, and Mme. Vandy Bouthasavong, Ambassador of the Laos to China delivered speeches at the reception respectively. Liu Yunshan had a meeting with Bounnhang before the reception. Liu Yunshan said that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the China-Laos diplomatic ties and the traditional friendship is the common treasure of the two peoples. It is important to keep the high-level exchanges and further the cooperation between the two parties as these serve to the political guidance of the bilateral relations. The CPC is willing to join the efforts of LPRP to implement the important consensus reached by General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Bounnhang, deepen the exchanges of experience on party-building and state governance, constantly enrich the content of the exchanges and promote the pragmatic cooperation, thus to push forward the socialist causes of the two countries and the stable development of our bilateral relations. Bounnhang said that the Lao side appreciates heartily to the selfless support and assistance provided by the Chinese side during the past 55 years of diplomatic ties. The Lao side is willing to, guided by the important consensus reached by the two sides during this visit, cooperate with the Chinese side and act promptly to implement the cooperation in all fields so as to upgrade the Laos-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation to a new level. Bethune Canadian Alliance Sends Delegation to Guizhou Provinces for Free Medical Consultation and Donation
At the invitation of our association, Dr. John Ducas, President of Bethune Canadian Alliance led a delegation of 14 members visited several places in Guizhou Provinces from April 21 to 29 following their visit to Hebei Province. The delegation had provided free clinical consultations and donations at health clinics and schools of two townships in Bijie City of Guizhou Province. The doctors and nurse trainers of the delegation had put the “Bethune Spirit” in practice and continued the friendship between Canada and Chinese people. During their visit to Guizhou, they had provided free medical consultations to hundreds of patients and carried out communications with local doctors and nurses at Renhe and Dashui Township health centers in Bijie City. and donations were presented respectively to Taoyuan Village health clinic and Taoyuan Village Elementary School at Renhe Township and Gaochao Village health clinic and Gaochao Village Elementary School at Dashui Township. With these donations, schools had purchased uniforms, printers and certain teaching materials for the pupils, and clinics had bought stretchers, fridges, germicidal lamps, frequency spectrum therapy apparatus and other medical equipment. Their generous action was highly appraised by the local people. Goodwill Visit by Gabon-China Friendship Association
A 5-member delegation of Gabon-China Friendship Association (GAFC),  headed by its President, Mme. PIERREETTE DJOUASSA, paid a visit to Beijing and Guangzhou from April 24 to 29 at the invitation of CPAFFC.  During their visit, the delegation met and dined with Mme. Lin Yi, Vice President of the CPAFFC and Mr. Yu Weihua, Vice President of the Guangdong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries respectively. They also visited China North Industries Corporation and Guangdong Provincial Communication Group, and took a study tour to FOTON motor, HUAWEI Technologies, Guangzhou Bus Rapid Transit and Foshan Yaodonghua Furniture Company.

Vice President Lin Yi Meets with South African and Zambian Ambassadors to China
On April 27, CPAFFC Vice President Lin Yi met with Ms. Dolana Msimang, South African Ambassador to China, and Mrs. Winnie N. Chibesakunda, Zambian Ambassador to China. Mme. Lin welcomed the two ambassadors to visit the CPAFFC and made a detailed introduction to the CPAFFC’s history, as well as its people-to-people friendly activities and local government exchanges with South African and Zambia. She also said that the CPAFFC will maintain close contacts with these two embassies and strengthen friendship among the peoples. Amb. Msimang spoke highly of the CPAFFC’s role as a bridge to enhance people-to-people exchanges and hoped to promote pragmatic cooperation between China-South Africa friendship cities jointly with the CPAFFC. Amb. Chibesakunda expected more cooperation with the CPAFFC in areas such as culture and youth for in-depth development of Zambia-China traditional friendship.
