The "U.S.-China Art Dialogue", co-organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF), and the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art with support from the China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, was successfully held in Hong Kong on March 28, 2025.The event brought together prominent figures from the international art world, including Alexandra Munroe, Senior Curator at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, and Noah Horowitz, CEO of Art Basel, alongside leading Chinese art professionals such as Philip Tinari, Director and Chief Executive of UCCA Center for Contemporary Art, renowned artist Xu Bing, and Prof. Huang Xiaofeng, Dean of the School of Humanities of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Zhou Jiancheng, CUSEF President, along with approximately 100 scholars, experts, and artists from China and the U.S., gathered to embark on a cross-cultural journey of artistic dialogue.Shen Xin, Vice President of CPAFFC, remarked that cultural exchanges between China and the U.S. have a long and rich history, with artists building bridges of mutual understanding and appreciation between the peoples of both countries. He noted that while Chinese and American cultures each have their unique strengths, this event sought to use art—a universal language that transcends borders and speaks directly to the heart—to break down geographical and ideological barriers, inspire wisdom through intellectual exchanges, and foster friendship through shared experiences. He also expressed the hope that young artists and scholars from both countries engage in open discussions, sharing insights and the essence of artistic practices.In a video address, Wu Weishan, Director of the National Art Museum of China and Vice Chairman of the China Artists Association, emphasized that at a time when globalization faces new challenges, art, as a vessel of civilization, carries the mission of transcending language and national boundaries. He highlighted that China-U.S. relations, being among the most consequential bilateral relationships in the world today, mean that the depth and breadth of cultural exchanges not only impact the two nations but also influence the trajectory of global civilization. This, he said, is precisely why such dialogues are meaningful.During the event, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as emerging academic trends in Chinese and American art, the role and significance of artistic creation in cultural exchange, and the catalytic function of art in contemporary China-U.S. relations. Guests openly shared their creative challenges and inspirations, sparking new artistic ideas through the collision of perspectives.

On March 29, Sun Xueqing, Secretary-General of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with a delegation led by Akira Kaneko, Managing Director of the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum, Japan.Sun Xueqing congratulated the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum on the successful conclusion of its exhibition "The Great Silk Road World Heritage Exhibition" and noted that China-Japan relations are currently at a critical stage of improvement and development. He reaffirmed CPAFFC's commitment to building more bridges for cultural exchanges, practical cooperation, cultural exchanges, and youth friendship, working alongside various sectors of the Japanese society to contribute wisdom and strength to fostering mutual understanding between the Chinese and Japanese peoples.Akira Kaneko emphasized that cultural exchange serves as a vital channel for promoting friendship between peoples. He pledged to spare no effort in advancing artistic and cultural exchanges between Japan and China, enabling more Japanese citizens to experience the brilliance of China's history and culture.

On March 24, 2025, Jiang Jiang, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Natia Turnava, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, at the CPAFFC. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening people-to-people exchanges and practical subnational cooperation between China and Georgia to further advance the development of their strategic partnership. Paata Kalandadze, Ambassador of Georgia to China, and Chen Lei, Deputy Director-General of the CPAFFC's Department of European and Asian Affairs, also attended the meeting.

The Second Jimmy Carter Forum on U.S.-China Relations was held in Hangzhou from March 21 to 23, 2025. Shen Xin, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The event brought together Lu Shan, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province; Cui Tiankai, Advisor to the Council of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and former Chinese Ambassador to the United States; Paige Alexander, CEO of The Carter Center; and over 70 representatives from institutions including the U.S.-China Business Council, Yale University, Fudan University, Peking University, and Renmin University of China. Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng delivered a video address.Participants conducted candid and in-depth discussions on U.S.-China economic and trade relations, scientific and academic exchanges, challenges in cooperation and risk management, proposing insights and recommendations for advancing the U.S.-China relationship.The Jimmy Carter Forum on U.S.-China Relations is a non-governmental exchange platform established to commemorate former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his contributions to the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the United States. It aims to enhance mutual understanding and dialogue between the peoples of the two countries, promote cooperation and communication across various fields, and jointly address global challenges.

On March 20, Sun Xueqing, Secretary-General of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Nicolae Vasilescu, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Romania-China, and his delegation at the CPAFFC. The two sides held in-depth discussions on strengthening subnational cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and Romania.

From March 12 to 19, Yuan Mindao, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), led a delegation to Madagascar and Seychelles. The delegation had in-depth exchanges with people from all sectors of society in both countries and organized events for people-to-people friendship, subnational cooperation and cultural exchanges. Delegations from China's Jiangxi Province and the cities of Xi'an, Zhuhai and Chengdu, participated in the relevant activities.During their stay in Madagascar, the delegation paid courtesy calls on Augustin Andrianamanaruru, First Deputy Speaker of the Malagasy National Assembly, Rakotoarisoa, President of the Madagascar-China Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Harilala Ramanantsoa, Mayor of Antananarivo, the capital city. They visited the Confucius Institute, attended the Seminar on China-Madagascar People-to-People Friendship and had in-depth exchanges with the heads of a number of Malagasy organizations for friendship with China and six Malagasy provinces and cities. The Panorama of Chinese Culture and China-Madagascar Cultural Night events, hosted in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Madagascar, showcased outstanding Chinese cultural heritage and the art of Chinese opera, including porcelain, paper-cutting, lacquerware, Shu embroidery, and Qinqiang Opera, to the local community through live and televised programs. These events were warmly received by the Malagasy people and the local Chinese community.During the visit to Seychelles, the delegation paid courtesy calls on Ahmed Afif, Vice President of Seychelles, Sylvestre Radegonde, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Justin Davis Valentin, Minister of Education, David André, Secretary General of the Seychelles Institute of Culture, Heritage, and the Arts, Lydia Charlie, Acting Mayor of Victoria, and Li Guimei, President of the Chinese Federation of Seychelles. They participated in the handover ceremony for the Seychelles Broadcasting and Television Center, a key project of China's assistance to Seychelles. What's more, they conducted working-level discussions and signed a memorandum of cooperation with Vincent Meriton, Chairman of the Association for the Promotion of Friendship between Seychelles and China and former Vice President of Seychelles, and facilitated and witnessed the signing of an intention letter on friendly cooperation between Zhuhai City of China and Victoria City of Seychelles.During the visit, Yuan Mindao highly praised the contributions made by various sectors in both countries toward enhancing exchanges and cooperation with China and strengthening people-to-people friendship. They had in-depth exchanges of views on topics such as people-to-people exchanges, cultural exchanges, and subnational cooperation, leading to positive consensus. Yuan Mindao emphasized that the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) has charted a new blueprint for China-Africa cooperation and provided fresh momentum for the development of China-Africa relations in the new era. The visit aimed to implement the guidelines of the Beijing Summit and President Xi Jinping's important instructions regarding the CPAFFC's work, build more bridges of people-to-people exchanges, practical cooperation, cultural exchanges, and youth friendship between China and Madagascar and between China and Seychelles, contributing nongovernmental strength to the building of an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new eraRepresentatives from all sectors in both countries highly commended the friendly relations between China and Madagascar, as well as between China and Seychelles. They congratulated China on its remarkable development achievements, expressed gratitude for China's selfless assistance and valuable support, and fully acknowledged the critical role of people-to-people exchanges, cultural exchanges and subnational cooperation in driving the development of bilateral relations and improving people's wellbeing. They also expressed their willingness to work with the CPAFFC to make new contributions to the friendship between China and Madagascar, as well as between China and Seychelles.During the visit, the delegation from Jiangxi Province provided financial support to the Confucius Institute at the University of Antananarivo. The delegation from Xi'an reached an agreement with the Malagasy side regarding online art class training and introduced the scholarship program for studying in China to the Ministry of Education of Seychelles. The delegation from Chengdu offered free art training opportunities to the Malagasy side and concluded agreements on cultural and creative product cooperation with the Seychelles side.

At the invitation of the Brazil-China Friendship Association, the Colombia-China Friendship Association, and the Mexico-China Friendship Association, Shen Xin, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), led a delegation to Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico from March 9 to 19.During his stay in Brazil, Shen Xin, on behalf of the CPAFFC, signed memorandums of understanding with the LIDE (Group of Corporate Leaders) China and the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI). He attended the China (Shandong)-Brazil Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange Conference. Shen also met with João Brant and Cheroz, Vice Ministers of the Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, Ronald Luiz dos Santos, Deputy Secretary General of the National Youth Secretariat of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, Tia Ju, President of the National Union of State Parliaments in Brazil and Vice President of the Legislative Assembly of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Cavaliere, Deputy Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Nascimento, General Coordinator of Climate Action at the Secretariat for Climate, Energy and Environment, Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Luís Bueno, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Suzano, Ilan Cuperstein, Regional Director for Latin America at C40, and Berberto, Head of the Latin American Office of ICLEI. They conducted in-depth discussions on holding relevant activities in conjunction with the BRICS Summit and the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP 30) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and on further promoting exchanges between the two countries in all areas. In addition, to implement the guidelines set forth in President Xi Jinping's reply to letters from friendly personages from sectors of society in Brazil, the delegation held exchanges with friendly personages from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro respectively. Shen Xin welcomed all of them to visit China and encouraged them to continue contributing their share to the cause of the China-Brazil friendship. Chinese Ambassador to Brazil Zhu Qingqiao and Chinese Consul General in Rio de Janeiro Tian Min had a working exchange with the delegation.During his stay in Colombia, Shen Xin paid a courtesy call on former Colombian President Ernesto Samper, and met with Guillermo Puyana, President of the Colombia-China Friendship Association (CCFA), José María Gómez, former Colombian Ambassador to China, and other leading members of the CCFA. The two sides had an exchange of views on developing new forms of China-Colombia economic and trade cooperation, enhancing mutual understanding and amity among the young people of the two countries, and jointly helping the Global South play a greater role. Chinese Ambassador to Colombia Zhu Jingyang had a working exchange with the delegation.During his stay in Mexico, Shen Xin visited old friends of the Mexico-China Friendship Association and discussed with representatives of the Michoacán state government on further propelling bilateral cooperation. On March 18, 2025, Jiang Jiang, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with David Malcolm, Permanent Secretary of the Executive Office of Northern Ireland, at the CPAFFC. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening people-to-people exchanges and subnational cooperation. Lv Hongwei, Deputy Director-General of the CPAFFC Department of European and Asian Affairs, and Kerry Curran, Head of the Northern Ireland Bureau China, were present at the meeting.

From March 7 to 10, 2025, at the invitation of the Danmark-Kina, the Denmark-China friendship association, Jiang Jiang, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), led a delegation to Denmark. During his stay, Jiang Jiang met with Lotte Machon, State Secretary at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pernille Randrup Deleuran, Director of the International Department at the Danish Parliament, Sohlén Hed, an official of Copenhagen Municipality, Ystgaard, Councilor of Copenhagen Municipality, Julie Brink, President of the Danmark-Kina, Kilde Larsen, President of the Denmark-China Association, Shahamak Rezaei, Head of the Danish Center for Science and Commercial Diplomacy, and Marianne Stenvig, President of the Sindberg Foundation. The two sides exchanged views on enhancing people-to-people exchanges, subnational cooperation and youth exchanges between China and Denmark.Jiang Jiang said that Denmark was one of the first Western countries to recognize and establish diplomatic ties with the People's Republic of China after its founding in 1949. Over the past 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China-Denmark relations have achieved remarkable progress with productive cooperation in all fields, bringing tangible benefits to the two peoples. He would like to take the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Denmark as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with Denmark in the fields of economy and trade, science and technology, as well as culture, and among subnational entities. This aims to elevate the China-Denmark comprehensive strategic partnership to a new height and deliver more benefits to the two peoples.Jiang Jiang stressed that people-to-people friendship underpins state-to-state relations, and subnational cooperation provides an inexhaustible driving force for the development of state-to-state relations. The achievements in China-Denmark relations would not have been possible without the support and dedication of friendly personages from all sectors in both countries. When meeting with foreign guests attending the China International Friendship Conference and Events Marking the 70th Anniversary of the CPAFFC, President Xi Jinping pointed out that the Chinese government will continue to support the CPAFFC in playing its unique role in developing friendship between the Chinese and foreign peoples and promoting practical international cooperation. The CPAFFC stands ready to work with people from all sectors in Denmark to build more bridges of people-to-people exchanges, subnational cooperation, cultural exchanges and youth friendship between the two countries, and contribute at the people-to-people and subnational level to the development of China-Denmark relations.The Danish side spoke positively of China's development achievements and the fruitful results of Denmark-China cooperation. They said that they value Denmark's relations with China and will strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in multiple areas. Denmark cherishes the friendship between the two peoples, appreciates the CPAFFC's contribution to deepening the people-to-people friendship between the two countries. It is willing to strengthen ties with the CPAFFC to jointly facilitate exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in such fields as green transformation, cultural tourism, urban governance, and youth exchanges, helping move forward Denmark-China relations.

On March 11, Yuan Mindao, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Irakli Mezurnishvili, First Deputy Chairman of Georgian Parliament Committee for Economy and Honorary Chairman of the Georgia-China Association for Subnational Cooperation (GCASC), and his delegation at the CPAFFC.Yuan Mindao welcomed Irakli Mezurnishvili's visit to China while leading a delegation and conveyed President Yang Wanming's greetings. He spoke positively of the development of China-Georgia relations, and looked forward to deepening cooperation with the GCASC to add momentum to people-to-people friendship and subnational cooperation between the two countries, and make new contributions to the growth of China-Georgia relations. Irakli Mezurnishvili thanked the CPAFFC for its invitation and highly appreciated the positive contributions the CPAFFC has made to Georgia-China friendship, adding that the cooperation between the two organizations is set to thrive in the coming years. Chen Lei, Deputy Director-General of the CPAFFC Department of European and Asian Affairs, Vakhtang Chakhnashvili, President of the GCASC, and Tinatin Shishinashvili, Senior Counsellor at the Embassy of Georgia in China, were present at the meeting.
