I am directed by His Excellency, Mr. Rupiah Bwezani Banda, Former President of the Republic of Zambia and Executive President of the Zambia-China Friendship Association (ZCFA) to inform Her Excellency, Madam LI Xiaolin the CPAFFC President that he greatly appreciates her message as contained in her letter that was contained in your email. His Excellency, Mr. Banda also recalls the friendly discussions he had with Her Excellency Madam Lin Yi, the Vice President of the CPAFFC in Lusaka when she came to witness the official launch of the ZCFA early last year, 2019.

It is His Excellency Mr. Banda's wish for these friendly exchanges to be increased and the Zambia-China relations to be strengthened further. To this end, he had issued an official statement of solidarity from the ZCFA with the Chinese President, government and great people concerning the Novel Corona Virus. Please find the statement by Mr. Banda attached hereto for onward transmission to Her Excellency, Ms. LI Xiaolin the President of the CPAFFC.

We look forward to more contacts and cooperation between the CPAFFC and the ZCFA.

根据赞比亚共和国前总统、赞比亚中国友好协会（以下简称赞中友协）执行会长鲁皮亚·班达阁下指示，我向中国人民对外友好协会会长李小林女士的来信表示感谢。班达阁下回顾了2019年年初在卢萨卡与副会长林怡女士的友好会谈，当时她见证了赞中友协的正式成立。班达阁下希望增进这种友好交流，进一步加强赞中两国关系。为此，他通过赞中友协就新型冠状病毒疫情发表了一份声明，表达我们与中国国家主席、政府和伟大的人民同心协力抗击疫情的态度。我们期待着两会加强联系与合作。

赞比亚中国友好协会执行会长、赞前总统鲁皮亚·班达赞扬中国政府为抑制新型冠状病毒所做的努力和采取的行动，肯定赞总统埃德加·伦古和赞政府为确保赞在华公民、尤其是在华留学生和过境人员免受病毒影响而采取的措施。

班达先生认可赞驻华大使温妮·奇贝萨孔达和中国驻赞大使李杰积极分享信息，并就赞中两个友好国家确保双方公民安全保持沟通。

他还赞扬中国当地社区居民为赞在华公民和学生捐赠口罩，号召赞公民与在赞华人群体携手，以更加有效地抗击此次的严重疫情。

班达先生表示，“赞比亚中国友好协会在抑制和消除新型冠状病毒方面向中国的兄弟姐妹表示声援。我们相信在两国政府的强有力领导下，新型冠状病毒疫情将被控制和消除”。他表示，“我们向中国的兄弟姐妹为失去的生命表示哀悼，每一个生命的逝去都是巨大的损失。在当前这样的困难时期，你们永远可以在赞比亚找到感同身受的朋友”。
