To the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries

Dear friends,

I and my wife, Mrs. elín Árnadóttir, send our heartful greetings to the Chinese people who is now fighting the new corona virus threatening the inhabitants of china and the whole world.

We admire the Chinese nation for taking the important view of struggling against the virus and by this serving cooperating with the population of the whole world.

Every country is now participating and making efforts to win this struggle.

Our hearts are with the Chinese people of all nationalities and we are convinced that this struggle will be successful.

Iceland and china have had close relations since diplomatic relations were established in December 1971. Before that The Icelandic Chinese Cultural Society was established in 1953 and is one of the oldest societies cooperating with China.

We wish you all the best in the present struggle.

自1971年12月建立外交关系以来，冰岛和中国一直保持着密切的关系。在此之前冰岛中国文化协会就已经于1953年成立，是与中国合作最久的协会之一。
