President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. KAWAMURA TAKEO, the Chairman of the Committee on Rules and Administration of the House of Representatives and the Former Minister of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT), and Mr. OTA AKIHIRO, Former Leader of Komeito on August 19th. Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and Mr. YOKOI YUTAKA, Japanese Ambassador to China, attended the meeting.
CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin welcomed KAWAMURA TAKEO to visit China and spoke highly of the efforts made by him on promoting the friendly exchanges of the two counties for a long time. She said that the bilateral relations were faced with many problems in recent years, which effected in the exchanges in various fields and the feelings of the two peoples. History and facts have proven that cooperation between China and Japan lead to win-win results while confrontation hurts both. The Chinese side attached importance to improving and developing Sino-Japanese relationship and hoped the bilateral ties can go back to a normal lane as early as possible. CPAFFC and CJFA(China-Japan Friendship Association) have been working for developing the people-to-people friendly exchanges and cooperation of the two countries, and in recent years the two organizations put emphasis on the exchanges in the fields of the humanity and culture, especially the youth. In the future, they will develop more creative activities and ways, and supply a better society environment and public support for improving the bilateral ties. CPAFFC Vice President Song Jingwu made an introduction about the exchanges activities developed in recent years for Japan in the fields of the political, economy, culture and youth to the Japanese side.
KAWAMURA TAKEO thanked President Li Xiaolin for taking her time to meet them and giving support to holding successfully Children’s Fairy Tale Exchanges Activity of China, Japan and Korea in China. He expressed that this activity was supported by many Parties in the Japanese Parliament. The youth could establish understanding and trust from young through exchanges. He hoped that they would gain valuable experience and become the main bridge for the friendly exchanges of the two countries by the way of holding exchange activities. He is also willing to continue playing his role in promoting the humanity and culture exchanges, especially the youth between China and Japan in the future.
OTA AKIHIRO said that the Chinese tourists visited Japan increasingly in recent years, which was popular with the Japanese. Next year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations. The both sides should take this opportunity to develop the colorful activities and improve the feelings of the two peoples. We are looking forward for the dance drama, Crested Ibis, to tour again in Japan.
