Vice President Li Jianping Meets with the Irish Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine

On November 3, at the invitation of the Irish Ambassador, Vice President Li Jianping attended the reception that the Irish embassy held for its Trade Mission led by the Irish Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine. He met with Minister Coveney and the Irish Ambassador to China, Mr. Kavanagh. They exchanged views on promoting pragmatic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between China and Ireland.

Vice President Li introduced the history, principle, and the recent work of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), expressed willingness to promote people-to-people exchanges between China and Ireland, and invited Minister Conveney to attend the Fifth Sino-European Agricultural Seminar.

Minister Conveney said that Ireland attaches great importance to pragmatic cooperation with China and is willing to work with the CPAFFC to promote friendly cooperation and exchanges in agricultural and other areas. Ambassador Kavanagh said that Ireland is ready to strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges with the CPAFFC, and jointly promote the development of people-to-people diplomacy .
