The CPAFFC's involvement in the United CitiesLocal Governments (UCLG) represents a major effort for the association to develop city diplomacypromote multilateral cooperation for local governments. With its hard work, the CPAFFC is now playing an increasingly bigger role with rising influence on this important stage. To date, 18 provincescities on the mainland are now members of the UCLG. Our work regarding the UCLG aims at the following: playing a leading role in the organization; working with local members to host major UCLG meetings; upholding the one-China policy within the UCLG in the interest of national reunification; giving full play to the role of the CPAFFC as a lead agencysetting up a coordination mechanism of UCLG members;actively carrying out practical cooperation to contribute to local development.
