2012 China International Friendship Cities Conference Concluded Successfully

2012 China International Friendship Cities Conference was held in Chengdu from September 11 to 13.

State Councilor Dai Bingguo sent his congratulatory letter to the conference. Vice Chairman Lu Yongxiang of the NPC Standing Committee, President Li Xiaolin of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and other guests from China and abroad attended and addressed the conference.

More than 720 representatives from 95 foreign cities and 90 Chinese cities of 49 countries in total were present.

Topics such as Development Strategies of City Internationalization, Urban Transition & Leapfrog Development, City Orientation & Investment Direction, Emergency Relief of Cities, Aging Population of Cities were discussed. Theme Forum, Regional Forum and Newly-Twinned Friendship Cities Signing Ceremony were held. and Cities and people from China and other countries, which have made contributions from 2010-2011 were rewarded.

The next conference will be held in Guangzhou in 2014.
