The Second China Canada Cultural Dialogue

On October 13, 2010, the same day as ChinaCanada celebrate the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations, the 2nd China Canada Cultural Dialogue was opened in Ottawa, Canada. Ms. Sheila Copps, Former Canadian Deputy Prime MinisterMinister of Canadian Heritage hosted the opening ceremony. Mr. Lan Lijun, Ambassador of China to Canada,Mr. Phil Calvert, Director General of North Asia Relations of Department of Foreign Affairs & International Trade unveiled the board for the 2nd Dialogue as well as the celebration of the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between ChinaCanada.

The 2010 Dialogue serves as an important part of a series of events in celebration of the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between ChinaCanada,attracts broad attention from Canadian government, mediaall sectors of the society. In the afternoon of October 13, Prime Minister Harper attended the eventmade a speech, which brought the Dialoguethe 40th anniversary celebration to a climax.
