The First China Canada Cultural Dialogue
To establish a bridge for mutual communicationunderstanding between the people of the two countries, in November 2009, shortly before Canadian Prime Minister Harper's visit to China, the 1st China Canada Cultural Dialogue was jointly held in Beijing by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign CountriesCanadian Fund for International Understanding Through Culture. Madam Peng Peiyun, the then Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress unveiled the board for the event. Madam Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada sent a Letter of Congratulations to the Dialogue. The Dialogue provides a new platform through which the two sides may share traditionsexchange modern cultures,it also enables both sides to appreciate each other's culture in an equalfriendly environment.
