Vice President Hu Sishe Attends the Launching Ceremony of the Documentary "Traditional Chinese Medicine, New World" and the International Touring Exhibition of TCM Culture

In order to promote traditional Chinese medicine to “go globe”, the CPAFFC launched the full-length documentary "Traditional Chinese Medicine, New World" and intends to hold international touring exhibitions on traditional Chinese medicine in cooperation with China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio (Group) and Beijing 1+1 Cultural Development Company. The series of events are organized by the China Friendship Art Exchange Association.

The launching ceremony was held on January 30th in the CPAFFC Auditorium. Mr. Hu Sishe, Vice President of CPAFFC, Mr. Zhang Haitao, President of the China Alliance of Radio, Film and Television, Mr. Yang Longhui, Vice President of the China Academy of Chinese Traditional Medical Sciences, Mr. Zhu Haidong, Deputy Director General of International Cooperation Department of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Mr. Zhao Jie, Vice President of China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio (Group), Mr. Zou Yanjun, President of Beijing 1+1 Cultural Development Company, Mr. Wang Heshan, Secretary General of the China Friendship Art Exchange Association, Prof. Guo De’an, Director of National Engineering Laboratory for TCM Standardization Technology and Dr. Lin Hongsheng, Deputy Director of National TCM Center of Tumour, attended the launching ceremony.

Through the experiences of those who have witnessed the development of traditional Chinese medicine in person and the stories about the “going globe” of traditional Chinese medicine, the documentary "Traditional Chinese Medicine, New World" reflects the history and current situation of the overseas spread of traditional Chinese medicine and demonstrates the era of passion of those lively characters, from the perspectives of international access and recognition, overseas education, cultural communication and international cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine.

The international touring exhibition aims to demonstrate the culture of traditional Chinese medicine and promote the exchanges between China and other countries. It integrates knowledge, interest and interactivity to show the history and future of the culture of traditional Chinese medicine comprehensively at a closer range.

 

At the launching ceremony, Vice President Hu Sishe pointed out that traditional Chinese medicine has become a beautiful business card of Chinese culture and will play an increasingly important role in exchanges and cooperation with other countries. He said that the CPAFFC would build a platform for close dialogues and cooperation between traditional Chinese medicine and the world, and introduce the history and inheritance, innovation and development, and scientific and philosophical systems of traditional Chinese medicine to various countries and regions respectively.

In his speech, Mr. Zhang Haitao said it is a focus of current work to follow the Belt and Road Initiative and allow the Chinese traditional culture, including traditional Chinese medicine, to go globe through cultural products, cultural exchange activities, international cultural cooperation, etc. The documentary and the touring exhibition will facilitate understanding the cultural connotation of traditional Chinese medicine for domestic and overseas audience in a more direct and comprehensive way. Mr. Zhao Jie said that he hopes that the documentary "Traditional Chinese Medicine, New World" will become the most touching record of the internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine and the best carrier for promoting the international cultural exchange of traditional Chinese medicine.

The documentary "Traditional Chinese Medicine, New World" will be launched after the ceremony, and the international touring exhibition is also under preparation. The program will be a powerful attempt to promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine through cultural exchanges, and will also contribute to building China’s cultural confidence.
