Danish Minister for Gender Equality and Nordic Cooperation Karen Ellemann Kloch Joins Workshops of China Denmark Regions and Cities Forum

On 6 December, Workshops of China Denmark Regions and Cities Forum were held in Beijing. Representatives from China and Denmark participated in the four workshops “green urbanisation”, “improving public health”, “sustainable food and agriculture”, and “strengthening people-to-people exchange” under the theme of “Focusing on Sustainable Development towards Shared Economic Growth”. They held in-depth exchanges and discussions on the topics as Green Solution for Sustainable Urbanisation, Sustainable Solutions for District Heating and Cooling, National Regulations on Air Pollution from Heavy Traffic, Water Solutions for the Big Green Cities, Off Shore Wind for Sustainability, Public Health Reform and Capacity Building, Healthcare Innovation from Policy to Local Implementation, Sustainability within Food and Agricultural Systems, Financing Agricultural Technology, Tourism, Art, Sports, and Education. 

On the morning of 6 December, Danish Minister for Gender Equality and Nordic Cooperation Karen Ellemann Kloch, who visited China to attend the China Denmark Regions and Cities Forum at the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, joined Workshops and visited the supporting exhibitions. She asked with great interest business performance of the participating enterprises, tasted diary products provided by China-Denmark Milk Technology Cooperation Centre, and held talks with Workshops’ speakers including Mr Fang Laiying, Director General of Beijing Health and Family Planning Commission and senior representatives from VIA University College.

Minister Karen Ellemann Kloch said the Workshops were well attended and she felt the rising enthusiasm for China-Denmark cooperation. She was impressed by the strong willingness of the two countries to cooperate, and wished the Forum a complete success.
