Secretary General Li Xikui held a lunch banquet for the three famous NFL American football stars in CPAFFC on Nov. 18th. The legendary football star Troy Polamalu and his teammates Ryan Clark, Ike Taylor visited China to promote the coming 50th Super Bowl which is going to be held next February. All of them come from Pittsburgh Steelers-- the team which has won the most Super Bowls in the history of NFL. The three stars have won 5 Super Bowls in Steelers.

As a bridge connecting the people of China and the United States, sport, with its unique charm, has become the lubricant and the propeller in people-to -people exchanges among our peoples. The “NFL Super Bowl’s Legendary Visit to China” fully embodies the active role played by American football in the Sino-US friendly exchanges. President Li Xiaolin visited New York this September to attend the upgrading ceremony of the“ Global Strategy for the health of Women, Children and Adolescents” which was launched by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. During her visit, she met with Mr. Mark Walter, the Executive Vice President of International Cooperation Department of NFL and started the cooperation between CPAFFC and NFL. NFL’s visit to our association this time indicates that we have become real cooperative partners.

With our promotion, the NFL delegation also paid a visit to Beijing Bayi High school in which President Xi Jinping once studied. They gave the students a lesson named “NFL Play 60”, taught them the knowledge and the skills of American football. Chinese President Xi Jinping made a special trip to Lincoln High School during his visit to the United States this September. He held friendly exchanges with the students of the school football team and was given a football and a football shirt. He also listened to a lecture about the introduction of 7 to 7 American football. In 2016, 100 students from Lincoln High School will visit China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. Maybe at that time they would play a real American football game for President Xi on the gridiron in China.

After the visit in Beijing, the NFL delegation will fly to Shanghai to share the charm of American football and Super Bowl to more Chinese American football fans.
