At the invitation of the CPAFFC, Mme. He Luli, the former vice chairwoman of Standing Committee of NPC met with a delegation formed by the Belgian congress members and representatives from Belgian industrial and commercial circles, headed by Mme. Anke Van Dermeersch.

He Luli welcomed the delegation to visit China. She appreciated the delegates for their contribution to promoting the friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between China and Belgium. She said, in recent years, the Chinese and Belgian high-level exchange of visits were frequent and the political mutual trust was deepened. In March this year, the state visit to Belgium paid by the Chinese President Xi Jinping opened a new historic page of China-Belgium friendship.

Mme. Dermeersch and Mr. Filip Dewinter, the deputy head of the delegation thanked the CPAFFC for the invitation and warm reception. Mr. Dewinter said, Mme. Dermeersch and he are the members of Antwerp Municipal Council. They expect to establish a Chinese Culture Center in Antwerp which will be the second largest Chinese Culture Center in Belgium, while the largest one is in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. As the second largest port in Europe and fourth largest of the world, Antwerp established friendship-city relation with Shanghai 20 years ago. It is the first pair of friendship cities between China and Belgium. It is expected that the contact of the two cities would be energized with the establishment of the Chinese Culture Center.

Mme. He Luli said, it is pleasant to see that the Belgian guests raise the idea of enhancing the friendship between the two countries by establishing the friendship cities or regions. The CPAFFC has been long dedicating to city diplomacy and achieved fruitful result. She hope the CPAFFC to concern about this event and push it forward actively.

Mr. Qu Xing, the incoming Chinese Ambassador to Belgium said, it is a great pleasure to meet with the Belgian guest in China before taking his post in Belgium. He will do his best to favor the above event and expect to meet the delegates again in the Chinese Embassy in Belgium soon.

Hu Sishe, Vice President of CPAFFC, Cui Yongqian, Chairman of Silk-Road Peace Award Foundation, Zhou Ruiming, Secretary-General of Commission of Economic Cooperation of CPAFFC were present at the meeting.
