Main Functions:

Department of European and Asian Affairs is in charge of communicating with friendship organizations of European and Central Asian countries, carrying out people-to-people exchanges including sending friendship delegations and professional investigation missions reciprocally, holding forums, seminars, introduction meetings, activities in commemoration of establishing diplomatic relations of China and above-mentioned countries. It also coordinates and provides  suggestions and policy consultation for the issues of friendship cities between the Chinese provinces and cities with their counter parts in Europe and Central Asia. It is also in charge of  developing multilateral cooperation of nongovernmental organizations, undertaking daily works of the friendship associations of the regions and running the important project consigned by the central government, promoting the exchange and cooperation between the Chinese as well as European and Central Asian countries in the fields of politics, culture, science & technology, economy & trading, local authorities, enhancing understanding and friendship between the Chinese and European-Asian people, safeguarding world peace, promoting common development
