

路易·艾黎(1897—1987) 新西兰著名作家、教育家和社会活动家。 1927 年首次访华,从此留居中国。抗日战争 爆发后发起“工合”运动支援抗战。1952 年 被选为亚洲及太平洋区域和平联络委员会委 员。1953 年定居北京。他在中国六十年,把 全部心血献给了中国人民的事业。邓小平称 他为“中国人民的一位老战士、老朋友、老 战友”。
Rewi Alley(1897—1987) Rewi Alley was a renowned writer, educationist and social activist of New Zealand. He first visited China in 1927 and thence lived in China. After the breakout of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he initiated the “Gung Ho” Movement in support of the War of Resistance. He was elected Member of the Peace Liaison Committee of Asian and Pacific Regions in 1952. He settled down in Beijing in 1953. During his 60 years in China, he devoted his whole life to the cause of the Chinese people. Deng Xiaoping called him “a veteran fighter, an old friend, and a longstanding comrade-in-arms of the Chinese people”.
